Hey,
I see there is another ASer
using the handle KC. To avoid confusion I'll start using Casey for mine.
Here another installment of my impressions of this year's GuidoPalooza.
Mission Report

GuidoPalooza 2002
Outer Banks, NC
Day 2
0700
Reveille - went upstairs
for coffee with Neal and others.
Debated dawn patrol or breakfast,
depending on conditions.
Initial reports from out
front of the house were not inspiring, so we drank
more coffee.
0830
Rod and I went south for
a surf check.
Checked first turn-off south
of Avon - nada
Checked Lighthouse - very
little swell and on shore wind
Back for breakfast.
0930 - 1130
Neal made custom omelettes.
Pretty damn good.
Everyone feasted.
There were a few breakfast
beers consumed.
1200
Went north to check Rodanthe.
Looked rideable but not compelling.
Went back to the house.
1300 - 1600
Session in front of the
house.
This may be the highlight
of the Palooza: Robb and others towed out a
floating cooler stocked
with beer into the lineup.
All drank beers between
waves.
Pat H. arrived at the beach
1500.
Ferg arrived at some point.
1700
Post-session beers and other
potables.
Steve M. arrived.
All chowed down on fajitas
and enchiladas.
After dark -
Awards
ceremony - Surfin' Santa, long-lost Thermos, etc were handed out.
Don't recall who all got
what, except I got the Wipe-Out Ball.
HUGE fireworks display courtesy
of Ferg. Mortar-like rockets with a big
air-burst and LOUD explosions.
I still can't believe the cops didn't show
up.
Later
More partying. |
