Good Times
by Dan King

Guidopaloozers!

So did it get epic after I bugged out on Monday?  S-turns was not happening.  I tried to call the house to let you all know, but nobody answered.  I had a great time, thanks to everyone and especially the ringleaders.

I hope to surf with all of you again SOON! So pray for surf.

[Hi Todd]

GP was in full swing when I left. OBX surf totally sucked on Saturday afternoon. The surf was worse on Sunday, but at least the sky was clear and the water was warm. Monday morning it imrproved substantially (this was consistent with *my* forecast, btw), and we enjoyed a couple of hours of fairly clean and fun chest-shoulder surf right in front of the house, with no wind. The wind finally did get on it and by 10:30 everybody had settled down to brunch.

I had to bug out on Sunday morning but I expect that (a) surf continued to improve, and (b) the wind shifted offshore.

The organizers may want to give serious consideration to changing the event name to "Mosquitopalooza."  Other than that minor annoyance, a great time was (and continues to be, I'm sure) had by all. Although plenty of cold, refreshing beverages were enjoyed by all, I don't recall seeing any 24oz Beck's. You can bet that pictures and stories will be forthcoming.  People are having too much fun to bother with the internet just at the moment.
