The day starts with my double cafe, bread and newspaper pick-up at the corner colmado in Rincón.  From there I headed straight to Wilderness for a brief stop and surf check -- didn't make it past the old lighthouse.  On to check out La Crica de Marta and then  Middles.  Muchas personas at Middles with head high but poorly formed waves.  After watching for about a half-hour the decision was made to head east to an old camping and surfing site.  Might as well enjoy the scenery of the coast and some solo waves.  The fishermen were already at sea while a group of buyers debated the day's impending catch.  I suited up, said a short prayer for  my former camping companion, Mike Lopez-Fresquet, called ASC'er Neal Carver for a DelMarVa surf check, and paddled out.  Neal and Chris were just passing through their last Delaware town before reaching the shore. Stoked dudes. They promised to call me when they reached Rehobeth with a surf check. Fifteen minutes later a stoked Neal reports back with waist to chest, glassy offshore conditions, albeit COLD!  Time for me to paddle out.  I caught several average shaped waves, not long rides, but some curl action right after takeoff.  Fun to get some curl/tube action again.  After about an hour, I paddled in satisfied and tired. Spent another hour sipping on a cold Heinie just spacing out and watching the breakers and others come, park, talk and depart.

Headed back to Rincón, stopped at The Paradise for a lunch of arroz amarillo, habichuelas rojas and pollo along with a large 16 oz of fresh squeezed orange juice.  The Capitán brought me the 3-star Barrilito and added a trago, asked if I'd like another and all I had to do is smile.  Time for a shower, nap and a little California dreamin'.  Also confirmed the family reservations for next year in our usual room by the sea.

Tomorrow's plan is to rise a little earlier for a day break Middles session before returning to pack, do some last minute shopping and heading to the airport for the trip home.  I owe my sweet wife big time -- all she has been doing is shoveling snow the past 3 days while I enjoy the surf and sunshine.
