Santa's
Little Helper cruises at Jobo's Beach.
We cruised the northern coasts
checking for waves and exploring a few areas like Costa Brava. The surf
was very small so we decided to just enjoy a leisurely Christmas morning
sipping cafés, talking to the early morning fishermen, and listening
to the salseros and plenas on the radio during our cruise. Late this afternoon
we went to the movies to see "Lord of the Rings: Twin Towers." Of course,
very few shops and eateries were open on Christmas Day, so after picking
up our tickets for the show we sped into Mayagüez to find something.
Noticed that the cathedral on the plaza was in a complete state of renovation.
Picked up some criolla sandwiches and coconut macaroons at a Panaderia
y Cafeteria a couple of blocks from the plaza. The movie was great!

There's too much trash on
an island that otherwise can be next to paradise. |
Development everywhere along
this former sandy pot holed road. |
More boat skeletons discarded

A highway opens up development
and easier access to breaks. |

"We plow anywhere!" This
is one steep ass dirt road - wait until the rainy season. |
Jobos Beach produced... |

Exploring some new venues. |
This one has been bookmarked...
it's a long hike down. |
