Anyone got a copy of Warshaw's History of surfing? I was interested in whether there was any paipo or bellyboard content.
regards

I will be picking it up somewhere along the line. Welcome any comments about paipo/bellyboarding content and the overall book as well. _________________ rodNDtube

Rod,
I ordered a copy from Amazon. Way cheaper than the oz prices I saw. Probably should take a 4-6 weeks to arrive.

Poobah,
Thanks. That link appears to be to the Encyclopedia. The History of Surfing is (I hope at least) a different book,

My review: interesting book on the history of stand-up surfing. Not the "definitive history of surfing" as one review on the back cover states.
Paipo gets a half paragraph on page 25. Boogieboards get two pages, surf mats get two pages though mostly about the surfoplane. George Greenough fares much better but the index doesn't include 'kneeboard'. No doubt some individuals get a mention (e.g Steve Lis).
The net remains the best source of information on paipo riding, past and present. It will be interesting to see if the Hydrodynamica project addresses this. John Clark's book will also be a useful contribution.
