There are a lot of bodyboarders here (of which I'm sometimes one) the occasional kneeboard, and a handful of bodysurfers. I haven't seen anyone else riding a paipo (wood or fiberglass) since the 70's.
I think the alaia trend is going to bring them back!
As for movies, those are fun. Here's another http://vimeo.com/6573441 |

I gather the guys in the vid are top bodyboarders. This is one of the better alaia style vids for sure.
What style of boards were being ridden around your way in the 70s?

Hi there, I'm another newby! I'm from Bells beach OZ. I've been building and riding wooden paipo's and alaia's for about 4 years!
I'm stoked to find this forum!
Cheers, BJ. |

I've had a look around and I can't find out how to post pics? I have a photobucket acc, but not sure how to work it? (bit of a tech-knucklehead!) |

I have trouble with that too, but I think it goes something like this-
1.Lets say your image html or whatever the thing is called is PAIPO1
2.Click on the Img box after clicking on Post a reply. Then copy and paste or type in PAIPO1
3.[img] should show up in the text box. Type in PAIPO1 after [img]. It should look like this [img]PAIPO1
4. Click behind [img]PAIPO1 and click on the Img box again. It should look like this
I think that's how you do it, if not try linking a URL on a reply. Its the same thing but you put in the web address in place of the html and click on the URL box instead. _________________ " NO SCARED UM, GO GET UM! " |

Thanks Mike,
I've been mesmerised for two days, digging through all the forums looking at your boards! I'm not a hugely skilled wood-worker, but I'm learning! |
