Mike,
What is the grey material that you glued on? I have never worked with cork but I guess it would be possible to glue cork onto the nose of a board to create a spoon.

Wow, you went from glue up to surf session in less than 1 wk w/ the ply board?? You're amazing. How thick is that board at the rails & center? Also, what did you use to finish /seal it? How much does it flex? Very cool board. As we used to say when we were kids in Hawai'i : "Brah, I like try sample!!" |

Mike,
Thanks. If I got it right, you had a piece of ply and then glued another piece of ply to obtain a sppon effect. Was the idea for appearance or did you think you would get extra flotation or was the aim something else?

bgreen you got it right it is a sandwhich of wood.
oz-azn the bottom is 1/8" thick the rails are 1" thick at the nose and 1/16" at the tail.the finish is minwax helmmans spar varnish 6 coats. and it flexes. I am retired so I have lots of time to make boards. I sold 7 boards this month so I have to make some more I am working on another one now. I will send pic's when I am done with it _________________ PAIPO ON
