So Trevor is talking to this local guy in the lineup at Ke'ei Bay. The guy says, "You know, your friend is paddling into the SKETCHIEST SPOT on this whole island -- that's why it's called shark point, Shark Point, SHARK POINT!!" Just about that time at the spot known as Shark Point, a big set wave kicks up outside me. As I start to duck dive, I realize the water has sucked back to leave about six inches of water over the reef. I duck dive four inches, get sucked off the bottom and thrown onto the reef. That's why they call it SHARK POINT. I wonder why he said it three times.

My HPD is fine. As I was getting thrashed, I held the board in front of my face and chest and thereby protected the board from the reef using my body.
Pulling the "non-stick" bandages off today was no fun. To make matters worse, my buddy called me to tell me how good the surf was a Pinetrees.
I believe I am now watertight and hope to have another go tomorrow.
