Ran across these while looking through youtube. The video shows some pretty cool tricks about a quarter of a way through the video (gotta try some next time I go for a session).

A nice clip. It was hard to tell whether some of the prone rides were paipo or large boogie boards.

Boy, I would love to go to that! Unfortunately I'm laid off from my job that was taking me back and forth to the big island. Bad timing. Still someone from here (this site) ought to go. I does seem that you have to be either over 50 or over 250 lbs. Ted you don't look like you qualify on either count, HI paipo? |

Nah, too busy to watch it right now, but would love to participate some time. Too young though because im only 15. Bud Scelsa, an old guy (no disrespect meant) who rides paipos like knee boards is probably old enough. I added him as a friend on my myspace (I'm DEV on his profile). His profile might not be private, so you can see his pictures of how he rides. his profile is www.myspace.com/paipo _________________ " NO SCARED UM, GO GET UM! " |

I just got a note from Paul Lindberg about Buffalo's contest. He says the paipo division is fairly small and that Buffalo rides an HPD XL.
I cannot go this year, but next year I'll have a go. I don't think there are any age requirements, so HIpaipo you should be enter also.
Paul also said there is a summer paipo contest at point panic. |

I checked the entry form from the link on kage's post and it says that you have to be 50 years or over and over 250 lbs. The rules may be out of date, maybe try calling that number on the contest link. Any more info on the point panic contest? _________________ " NO SCARED UM, GO GET UM! " |

Thanks for the info. My board can be used according to the rules. Have to make plans to attend. Wonder why you have to be over 250 lbs? _________________ " NO SCARED UM, GO GET UM! " |

Maybe the 250 lbs makes the boards harder to ride? _________________ " NO SCARED UM, GO GET UM! " |
