I love it! The don't worry be happy shark would be perfect for FL (in more ways that one) heheh..
I thought I read in another thread that you don't put any nose rocker into your boards. How do you keep from pearling in the windchop? It sounds like surf in the Netherlands is similar to here on the U.S. east coast - a lot of beachbreak windswell. I will make myself a wood paipo eventually. Thanks for the inspiration! |

thanks!
yup, loads of windswell beachbreak
these boards are pretty flexible so when yo pull the nose you can create a little bit of nose rocker, and most of the time i try to angle across the wave as quickly as posible. I feel you don't need much rocker zipping down the line.
greetings,

Hey Mike!!
Beautifull beautifull!! I love the wooden tailblocks! The old finboxes look very nice on the board on the right. Their old owners will be VERY suprised when they could see these
Let me know how they go!

do you buy that paint in a car shop Mike? I use kiddies-posterpaint at the moment seems to work well too!
i finally finished this alaia, it measures 5 ft 8 x 16 x 0.4 and is made from salvaged plywood. The blue face says something like "all the time in the world" in dutch, and the turtle "no not cold at all!"
not tested yet

Hey Mike,
way to go on the recycled boards. Does the tail section board come with an existing leash attachment that's now in the nose? A while ago I came up with a name for that class of board. I call them Lazarus boards, because they are (quickly) brought back from the dead. Amputate the ragged edge, tail block with wood or sheet foam, then (minimal) glassing. Fins optional. Another variant is the Lazarus Bumper board, like the regular Lazarus, but simply glass both ends blunt, and glue on bumpers made out of cork, PVC foam, neoprene, etc. Fins optional, but Tikis recommended. |

LARRY: the leash plug is still in, now on the nose. the fins slots were filled with epoxi and sanded flush and tikis added. the back of this lazarus board surfs better then the front. the front is to pointey so I am going to cut it off and add a balsa block. Who would have thaught that surfers were rideing they backward all this time
