Just got back from Guidopalooza
in Hatteras. Three days of amazing surf. Wait till you see some of
the shots taken by Foon, Rod, and Pat. The waves were consistantly
8 to 10 feet in Avon. Occasionally a sneaker would come through at
12 or so. One of the guys at the GP house caught one. Friggen
thing was huge. The paddle outs were hell but those of us who made
it out were rewarded. We just got evacuated today. It was fine by
me....No one was getting out today due to waves
breaking on the horizon
and rolling all the way in! Biggest surf
I've been in on the EC.
That house that sits at "S turns" may not be there as I write this.
There had been wash over in Rodanthe during the previous high tide. I left
at Low tide this morning and saw that the house had just been enveloped
in white water. The rest of the wave then flowed out the drive way
and onto RT 12. Glad I'm out of there with good memories.
I'll post a full length report
later. Probably do it during the
storm (power pending) |
