Hey everyone,
We made it back here to Chicago,
about 1100 miles. Thanks for letting me drinlk (way too much) with you
all. It was good to meet those I'd not met before and see again those I'd
met!
I wish we'd been able to
surf, but I guess nature cut that short. But the experience I had in the
waves alone made it memorable for me.
By the way, I did check the
Oregon inlet again on the way out... it was bigger but the tide was in.
I did catch a few at Kill
Devil Hills where it was messy but MUCH smaller on the way out.
I feel like I experienced
something unique on the OBX this year. It is rare that a hurricane actually
hit there.
I will also say that the
evac on I 64 sucked...through Norfolk and the tunnel. It took many hours.
It took three days to actually make it back to Chicago...contrast this
with my trip (with other surfers) last year...19 hours straight.
Aloha and thanks for the
all too short time!
