I'm going to O'ahu next week, and will be staying for about 3 wks. Will be helping out with family stuff, so not really a true vacation. I'm sure I'll still get some water time though. If anyone over there is up for a surf, shoot me a pm on this forum. I'll be staying close to Sandys & Chinas. I hope there will be a swell big enough for the later to break. Aloha. |

Try heading over to The Wall in Waikiki on early Sat and Sun morning - that is where a number of the area paipo crew gather and ride the waves. Take a camera!
If a sizable swell does roll through then keep your eyes open for the Paepo Contest, part of the Redwings Handboarding Contest:

This weekend, June 19 and 20, was forecast as "Possible," but not "Probable" or "Definite." If you can, enter the contest and bring home a trophy _________________ rodNDtube

Thanks for the heads up on the Panics contest Rod. I doubt it was /will be held this weekend; I heard it's 2ft or less in town. Better swell is forecast for next weekend. I wish I could entertain the thought of entering a contest, but my 2x a month (if lucky) surf sessions the last couple months won't cut it fitness wise. I'll definitely try to check out the contest when it's held if I'm in the area and take advantage of the swell if it appears. |
