Mike,
I have 3 pieces of paulownia under the house that will become paipos one day. I like the basic shape of your board posted:

If the wood is 18.5" wide how wide would you make the nose?

that board is 24" at the tail and 15" on the nose( 6" back from nose ) and 48" long and the bottom is dead flat rails role down all the way around hope that helps MIKE  _________________ PAIPO ON

IF the wood you have is 18.5" I would make the nose about 12" wide @5" back from nose  _________________ PAIPO ON
