The boards in the first photo were mine. A couple watertight boards, but mostly boards that need some work...or an impossibly rare fin (Newport with a reverse wonderbolt fin slot.) My prices ranged $200 to $450, and there were a lot of other vintage bellyboards there in that same price range. I saw a nice Val Surf bellyboard with a wood & glass fin for just $200. I'm going to call this the bottom of the market. It just can't get any cheaper than this. From here it's BUY BUY BUY.
Mike's boards are in the 2nd photo. He sold a couple, and one of them...the Waylandesque plywood spoon sold to Dangerwoman Kim Hamrock. She told us that she got into riding prone about six years back while recovering from an injury (ankle?) She got a custom Pearson Arrow, rode it hard around the world, and then let the bellyboard retire in Costa Rica. Meeting people like Kim is what I like best about the Doheny club sell/swap. We also met a nice couple that live less than a mile from me. He's an alaia rider, and she has a Nuematic mat on order. Small world.... |

Of course Mr. Mike and I were were promoting Rod's Paipo Forum up at Doheny. We had to resort to writing it on blue masking tape. Tim, we need to come up with some sort of sticker to hand out, like the "Paipos not Bombs" sticker. Or maybe, "Got Paipo?" |

All sounds good - be sure to use the new URL for the paipo site:
http://MyPaipoBoards.org/
It has a link to the Forums and the forums will eventually migrate to the new domain name. _________________ rodNDtube
