Over the years I've thought about making a paipo from a wood pallet, but just never got around to it. Now I feel I must build one after reading some of the following pallet facts:

◦Approximately 40% of all hardwood harvested in the U.S. is for making shipping pallets
◦About two-thirds of pallets are used only once before being thrown out
◦1/4 of all wood in landfills is from used pallets

I'm with you, that sounds like an interestting project. But most of the pallets around here (nor cal) don't look like hardwood to me. More like cottony pine. Either way I may join you. Hmmm I need some big clamps.
