I was just looking at that thing and it looks like something you could probably just hold onto if you flip it upside down (mounts pointing up) and use it without the bodyboard part. |

I have to doubt that it would lift the board out of the water for several reasons.
1. The materials it's made of...not strong enough. It seems the hydrofoil would flex under stress conditions.
2. Would create a lot of drag, slowing down the board and you need some decent amount of speed to pull up out of the water.
3. Board might buckle/break if you are going fast enough to create lift, unless you had a couple of carbon fiber stringers (which some of my bodyboards have).
Would be fun to see what happens though. |
