Any of you mess around with walnut shell and epoxy? I was thinking about just the nose end of the deck of the board. The following company also has rubber chunks in a rubber paint.

No, but I've mixed in white/translucent silica sand. It works well with polyurethane coatings too. I've also seen it mixed right in to deck paint. A lot of wood and wood /composite skateboards have it because it provides good grip and lets the wood show through when used with clear coatings.
Some builders air spray it on a wet gloss/surface coat so as to get an even distribution and then they brush off the loose stuff after it has set up a little. |
