My little brother used to make keel fins from 9 ply birch salvaged from the sides of old dresser drawers. So when I saw this busted chair in the alley, I had to stop and toss it into the back of my truck. Some of the laminations are twelve layers thick. Too cool. Is there a paipo lurking in this pile of trash? A handboard? Perhaps a handoboggen...a toboggen for the hand? Only time will tell. |

Poobah -
That chair looks eerily similar to the IKEA chair I spent many weeks sleeping in while beginning the recovery process from a pinched nerve in my neck. Hadn't slept for more than 2 a hours a day for over a week which the chiropractor gave me a neck brace, therapy, and I think Soma...just wrapped a comforter around my shoulders and feel, watched "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as the pills went to work, and zones out in the living room...for a month and a half.
First class workmanship and materials if it is. Post pictures if you figure out what to do with the remains...I still have chunks of my wife's old futon from 1989. |
