Rod,

Sounds good.

Looks like the non-paipo version photos you want have uploaded. More detail can be provided later on unless you really want them now.

Is there a way to delete duplicate posts?

Bob

For deleting a post look for an "x" in the upper right hand of your posted item.

HIPaipo,

Looks like he might be riding a HPD? Interesting to know? he has a facebook page

I don't think he might want a whole lot of people bothering him but Wally Froiseth has a myspacebook page. Just found it after looking up Kainalu.

John Clark's book apparently has interviews with Wally. What I haven't seen, are pictures of his paipo boards. There might be one in The Surfer's Journal, Volume 6, Number 4, Winter 1997 - I don;t have access to this

I found a couple of old paipo pics here.

Believe I can get a copy of The Surfer's Journal, Volume 6, Number 4, Winter 1997, and scan the article.

A friend of mine has the TSJ V6N4 and it should be in-hand in a week.

Borrowed the edition of TSJ about a week ago and just sat down and read through the article. A very good read but, alas, silent on the paipo front except for a picture of Wally riding stand--up style on a paipo at Makaha.

"Surf Drunk: Wally Froiseth," by Malcolm Gault Williams, The Surfer’s Journal, Volume 6, Number 4, Winter 1997, p. 105. Courtesy of The Surfers Journal.

The silence of the paipo in this article almost strikes me as odd because the lead pic in Malcolm's article on LegendarySurfers.com is off Wally standing next to one of his handcrafted paipo boards! Something is better than nothing Wink ...and the breadcrumbs were left on the trail.

Absolutely... those are fins. However, I can't tell what brand they are Wink They can almost pass as Blunt Cuts - short, black and heel strap (not a diver's fins).

Standup on a paipo with flippers. I think the bar has been raised.

The only other references to riding something standing up with fins on is old bodyboarding pictures from Neal Miyake's HI Surf Advisory.
