I have found some old pics of a board I made when I had a little more hair on the head (1988). I shaped it from a basic polystyrene board sold as a beach toy for kids.
The rails were particularly ineffective so I had to use the skegs. (I had put skeg boxes - the idea was to learn how to do a stratification to make a windsurf board later on - which I never did)

My first paipo, harvested from a Holmesy Sidewinder broken in two pieces at Bridges (Aguadilla, PR) on a 4' day, on the far left, 40+ yrs later:
