SteveM's Swell Forecast for GuidoPalooza 2006

SteveM provides annual wave and swell forecasts for the GuidoPalooza.  Usually,
GPers are squirming restlessly awaiting the year's forecast... But wait a second,
this year SteveM has delivered an EARLY forecast... and it is not bad.

January 4, 2006 - GP '06 Wave Forecast . Well, being a little jealous that the West Coast (USA) is getting all the press and fine wavage while it's small and choppy here, I'm going to try to shift things ever so slightly and briefly back to the East Coast (USA). Besides, it's never too early to start the hype for the annual guidopalooza ya know! <insert sarcastic and satirical winking smiley face dude here.>

Actually, the main reason for this is to pre-empt those ever-earlier bribery attempts by the ring-leader of the "imfamous three" control freaks of GP (Rod) which seem to cast a pall of impropriety over my predictions each year. So, here's the forecast for GP '06:

While the size will be moderate, averaging from waist to chest high, the thing that will make the surf at this year's GP notable and fun is that it will have perfectly peeling pipes primarily at the piers. This glassy gift will be granted through a gorgeous groundswell. Other locations will log long lines too, but the pier pipes will prevail.

Later,
Steve

P.S....This is in no way meant to *prevent* the bribery attempts, Rod, it's just meant to prevent any perception that they have had an impact on the prediction!

Rod replies:
You just trying to raise the ante in the bribe to embibe contest??? Come on!  What do the "infamous three" need to do for some head high?

P.S. Maybe in the Spring I shall commence the full ocean press...

Steve responds:
Hey, now!  I thought that was a pretty good forecast.  Quality can often   compensate for what's lacking in quantity.  Besides, I said *averaging* waist to chest high, so a few head high or bigger are definitely possible.  The occurrence of these bigger waves, of course, depends on the stand-up vs. prone ratio...The higher that ratio, the higher the waves!

Later,
Steve

Rod retorts:
Review the history of the GP... higher prone-to-logger ratios correlate with better and bigger surf!
