OK, it's just two weeks and change until the GP2K1 and some of us need a
distraction, so lets focus on the event.  I know I had a little tune up
session this weekend and had to decide what to bring home for my trip down to
the OBX. I couldn't decide so I brought home almost everything I own just in
case.  I plan to bring...

DeeDee responds:

-My Big Bruddah
-Todd's Classic Bad Boy Ten Footer Surf Board! (Hi Todd!:o)
-3/2 wet suit
-4 mil booties
-fins (if I find a pair that fits ok this week, I think I will be able to...if not, I'll do fine without)
-towels

books:
-Peterson's Guide To Eastern Birds
-H.A. Rey's 'The Stars: A New Way To See Them'

music:
-mini-boom box for the road & for Tranquility Base, just in case an extra one is needed
-my Mom Betty's ol' nylon string Martin guitar
-a few songs to sing, if folks are up for a few songs (definitely, of course, SteveM's song
'Cape Hatteras Isle', to the tune of Gilligan's Isle)
-CD's/Cassettes: plenty of slack key, Bob Marley, Curtis Mayfield, Rascals, Lovin' Spoonful,
Linda Ronstadt's 'Canciones de mi Padre', Kate Wolf, Bob Dylan's 'Bringing It On Home',
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Tom Waits, John Hartford, Texas Tornadoes, Randy Newman,
Earth, Wind & Fire, Gipsy Kings, Beach Boys (Foon's already got B52's covered, but I might
bring that CD anyway, for the ride down :o).

-Avon's Skin-So-Soft!

-A Box of Trash Bags

-Tho I'll be staying in Buxton, I'd like very much to be over in Avon sharing good times with you
all a lot & very much want to _contribute funds_ to meals & related stuff. And I thought up this
list that I could bring over for you all when I see you on Saturday in Avon:

3 dozen large plastic cups
2 jars of Green Mountain Salsa-Hot & Medium Strength
1 large jar of capers
1 doz bananas
1 gallon orange juice
6 assorted melons/papayas
Lemons & Limes
5 lb. bag o' potatoes
Malt-O-Meal*
Molasses*
Brussel Sprouts*
*(just kidding on the last three :o)))

Plus that, food & drink wise:

- Fixings & cooking utensils for the enchiladas, ratatouille & salad  that I'm making for when
Rod, SteveM, Andy (anyone else who is at Hatteras on Oct. 5th) come over to where
I'm staying at Lighthouse View Motel (before, after or in-between when we go to Finnegan's
for an extended foosball play-off & for when Rod analyzes the Guinness that is served there :o)

-Fixings for the raw veggie platter w/ ranch dip & cheese and crackers that I would
like to contribute to opening night festivities at Tranquility Base (just because I am
not a great cook! but I know that others are!)

-Several jugs of Ipswich Ale, from my home town
-A large bottle of some kind of wine
-Reg'lar iced tea.

[I truly am not a good cook...but I'm great at helping out.  Just put me to work: chopping an onion or serving or
washing dishes....and I will be _on_ it!!!  Lookin' forward to seeing you all.]

[If it sounds good....I do make good mashed potatoes & also, mushrooms sautéed in red wine....
would be glad to make 'em, if it helps & fits into da flow of things.]

Thank You, Dear Camp Counselor!....I'm glad you did!
I needed that, to start getting organized!!!

OK! I sure will!

I am a believer in SteveM's predictions (Hi Steve!)  & I _know_ it is gonna be a great time!!!

Thank You So Much, Team GP2K1!
(Team Good Vibrations, to me!)

See You Folks Soon & Sincerely,

D2
